Wendy B. White
Wendy is the Co-founder of Continuum and FutureWave Consulting Services, LLC. She has shared her passion, insight, creativity and wealth of experience with her clients for over 20 years. Combining business and human performance practices with her ability to inspire and motivate, Wendy is able to transform and strengthen business cultures, structures and relationships
for a variety of client groups from big pharma and Fortune 500 Companies to educational institutions, government, NGO’s and non-profits. She is not afraid to tackle challenging situations, and thrives in partnering with people through times of transition, moving clients through chaos to creation and vision. Wendy is a member of the Experiential Based Training and Development Alliance and is a Myers Briggs and Appreciative Inquiry Consultant.
She is very involved in community outreach initiatives, and this year is active
with the Continuum Blues Jam, The Empowerment Project and the Youth Digital
Studio. Wendy keeps life in balance with her love for sailing, kayaking, traveling,
music, working out, entertaining friends and thoroughly enjoying her two college-
aged kids.
Rob Kramer
Since 1998, Rob has provided executive coaching, consulting and business training for a variety of organizations in the United States and internationally. He has served as the founding director the Center for Leadership & Organizational Excellence at NC A&T State University, the first of its kind in the southeast United States, and the director of Training & Development at the University of North Carolina, overseeing management, supervisory and leadership development curriculum for the University's 12,000 faculty and staff. Recognizing the critical need for succession planning and emerging leadership development, his forthcoming book, “The New Supervisor’s Survival Guide,” provides practical and easily digestible strategies for new managers at any level. Rob is an adjunct faculty member for the Federal Executive Institute, the premiere executive leadership training facility for the Federal government, where he teaches in both the residential and customized programs.
Rob received his B.A. in Psychology from the University of Delaware, his Masters degree from the University of North Carolina, and completed certification in Organizational Development through UNC-Charlotte. Rob is a seasoned practitioner in meditation, yoga, cycling, performing art, healthy cooking and work/life balance.
Pamela Black
Pamela is an international facilitator, trainer and coach, combining skills
from her strong and varied background to specialize in leadership, organizational
effectiveness, management coaching. She is a certified facilitator for a
number of renowned corporate programs including Verus Global’s Pathways
To Leadership Process®, the Certificate in Leadership© of Drake & Associates
(originally created for Duke University), as well as Continuum’s own Leadership
Essentials©.
Pamela spent 18 years in corporate roles including operations, training,
sales and CRM, working with start-ups and Fortune 500 companies spanning
manufacturing, retail operations and technology, and experiencing two
successful IPO's. She founded EF Consulting in 2000, through which clients in
the U.S., Canada and Europe have enjoyed the energizing and forthright style of
her work. Springing from her passion for individual growth, Pamela has written
and recorded workbooks and CDs for corporate transitions, stress management
and goal attainment; she is a member of the Board of Directors of The Georgia
CancerHelp Program. Clients have included Johnson & Johnson, Amgen,
Biogen Idec, Proctor & Gamble, Sterling Software, Novartis, Mental Health
Center of Denver, Burger King Corporation, University of North Carolina-Chapel
Hill, and Duke University. Pamela has a B.A. in Mass Communications as well as numerous post-graduate certifications.
Laura J. Nigro
Laura deftly melds structure with process to unite people across
experiential and ideological divides. Her dual focus is designing, facilitating
and communicating collaborative process for groups, and coaching individuals
in breakthrough learning experiences and personal project development.
Throughout her practice, she emphasizes the integration of knowledge, wisdom
and values.
Colleagues and clients alike cite Laura's inclusive enthusiasm, astute guidance
into possibility thinking that pays off, and knack for asking questions that shift
perception as well as action toward desired outcomes. Her recent facilitation
projects span outdoor adventure-based teambuilding/leadership development
through Triangle Training Center; regional focus groups for a global quality
improvement initiative; and a national STEM Leaders Roundtable to enhance
research possibilities for students. Her recent one-on-one coaching projects
include thought-partnership with authors writing for the industrial and academic
sectors.
Laura has intensive facilitator/interviewer training in Appreciative Inquiry,
Compassionate Listening, identity-based historical conciliation, and human-
subject research, with certifications in intercultural conflict resolution and
interracial dialog facilitation. She also earned degrees in physics from Wellesley
College and the University of Colorado-Boulder, which she has applied to both
modeling glacier flow and coaching math-science literacy.
Michael Stein
Michael Stein has more than twenty-five years designing, developing, and
facilitating quality-training experiences for corporations, educational institutions
and individuals. Specializing in experiential or adventure based team building
and leadership development programs since 1985, he is a certified Trainer of the
Excellence principle and NLP, certified Hypnotist, challenge course facilitator and
master story teller. Originally studying at Reed College, Michael received his B.S.
in Psychology from Regents College.
He has delivered programs to Harvard Business School, Duke Fuqua School
of Business, the Federal Aviation Administration, NC Outward Bound, and
numerous Fortune 500 companies. Considered the "trainer's trainer", Michael
is the author of training manuals for the application of experiential activities
in credentialing programs and has designed more than a dozen training
simulations. He is especially fascinated with cross-cultural approaches to human
development, particularly from the perspective of the indigenous peoples of the
Americas.
With two grown children, Michael's passions now include Aikido and wilderness
based rites of passage.
Lynn Duffy
Lynn Duffy has over 20 years of business management and HR experience
focused on delivering business competitiveness through human capital.
Recognized as a leader in innovative and proven approaches to leadership and
team development, Lynn brings extensive industry experience in global financial
services, healthcare, consulting and packaging. She understands the realities
in which clients operate, having held senior human resources and operations
leadership roles for over 20 years. Clients appreciate her insightful and direct
style.
Lynn has designed and implemented talent management systems and
initiatives including Executive Assessment, Succession Planning, Leadership
Development, High Potential Programs and Team Effectiveness. Lynn has lead
organizational effectiveness initiatives including organizational restructuring,
merger and acquisitions and business process improvement. Lynn is a skilled
facilitator, executive and team coach. She uses this expertise to help drive
positive and sustained change.
During her tenure as Vice President of Human Resources at Blue Cross and
Blue Shield North Carolina, the organization was recognized for several HR
best practices including Training Magazine’s Top 100 for Blue University and
BlueXchange mentoring program. Prior to BCBSNC Lynn was a VP with Citi
Group in the Latin American Investment Bank and International Corporate
Finance Divisions and with Alliance Capital Management and Continental Can
Company.
She is active in the community including The Women’s Center and Triangle
United Way, Lynn resides in Chapel Hill, North Carolina with her husband, John
and sons, Kyle and Tim.
Dr. Leigh Shamblin
Dr. Leigh Shamblin is an accomplished and dynamic international and
organizational development professional with more than 20 years experience
leading education, health, and private sector projects and programs worldwide.
Her personal mission is to positively impact what it means to be alive today.
To achieve that mission, Leigh has led initiatives and worked with leaders and
teams in more than 20 countries, including in Central and Eastern Europe,
Central Asia, Eastern and Southern Africa, and the Caribbean. She has
the demonstrated ability to achieve significant results with limited resources
and build strategic partnerships in a variety of cross-cultural and organizational
contexts. As an example, Leigh oversaw the Macedonia Connects project
that, with an investment of only $3.9 million from the US government, helped
Macedonia become the first wireless country in the world, provided Internet
service to all primary and secondary schools, and significantly increased national
Internet penetration in the country. Leigh is also well known for her ability to
help organizations, groups, and individuals create and achieve a vision and help
people get "unstuck" - regardless of the problem or context.
In her spare time, Leigh enjoys exploring how new technologies can be applied
to solve real-world problems, reading, listening to music, scuba diving, traveling
to new places, and spending time with her family.
Janine Underhill
For over 10 years Janine Underhill has helped make the invisible visible for Fortune-100 clients and nonprofit firms that need a repeatable blueprint to reach important meeting outcomes, that need to get diverse minds on board to accomplish complex team efforts, and that need to arrive at solidified leadership decisions based on quality discoveries.
Utilizing Graphic Facilitation, Corporate Storytelling and Consulting, Janine helps thought leaders and innovators experience breakthroughs as they turn meetings into winning ideas and profitable outcomes. Janine practices dynamic, experiential big-picture learning processes so meeting participants can fully engage in conversation, and tether their ideas and beliefs to the big picture of the organization. We activate creative business and community strategies that engage the individual along with the entire system. Using interactive and collaborative processes, she skillfully delivers a unique product in the fields of Organizational Development and Consumer Research and Marketing.
Betsey Upchurch
Betsey (Elizabeth) Upchurch has over 25 years of experience in organizational
development. Her gentle yet direct style creates an atmosphere where people
step into the difficult issues that, once traveled through, propel them to new
horizons. Betsey has worked with organizations such as Bovis Lend Lease,
Novozymes, N.A., Red Hat, Inc., Motorola, and Owens Corning to provide
engaging and timely solutions for talent development, change management and
strategic direction.
Betsey’s recent work uses web technology, online simulations and webinar
instructional design to provide powerful, experiential learning as well as ongoing
leadership development and project management in remote environments.
Melding experiential technology with online and virtual environments adds a
cutting edge dimension to her consulting and training engagements.
A gifted facilitator, Betsey is much in demand for teambuilding and leadership
development. She is considered a leader in experiential technology and
serves as Treasurer of the Experiential Training and Development Alliance,
a professional member organization dedicated to furthering best practices in
corporate training and development. She is certified in the Hay Group Emotional
Competency Inventory, a 360º.
